Supporting Our Veterans Through Community Contributions

This week, Ciara from Power Control Industries visited Bill at the Mackay Veterans' Support Group to donate a Switch Board. This donation will be repurposed by the veterans into a functional bookcase, which will then be gifted to a local school in Mackay — continuing the cycle of giving back to the community.

The Mackay Veterans' Support Group is a local organisation that supports veterans and their families through practical activities, community engagement, and social programs. The group’s woodworking and repurposing projects offer a sense of purpose, skill development, and camaraderie.

During Ciara’s guided tour of the facility, she learned about the group’s various community initiatives, including the creation of mud kitchens for early education centres and other hands-on projects that benefit local children and schools.

The donated Switch Board is now more than just equipment — it’s part of a meaningful transformation, supporting veterans’ wellbeing and contributing to local education.

The Veterans' Group workshop is more than a place to work; it’s a safe, supportive space for veterans to meet, build friendships, and combat social isolation. These kinds of donations help keep their valuable work going strong.

At Power Control Industries, we’re proud to support initiatives like the Mackay Veterans' Support Group and value opportunities to give back to the Mackay community through meaningful collaboration. Learn more about who we are and what we stand for.
